This journal was created for the soul purpose of satisfying my want to create a new journal. Well, no, not really. Ok, partially. =P I did want to create a second journal, but really this one serves a purpose, I swear! It's my convoluted way of organizing my favourite pastime- writing. I have so many stories and novel ideas and blah blah blah going on right now that a lot of my work has gotten lost in the vortex that is my mind. Or more concretely, the scary dark space under my bed. Yes, when I decide to put something on the backburner, it gets put into a box that's stored under my bed and is forgotten about for years before, in an attempt to clean and organize my mess of a room, I rediscover it, but then totally and regretfully forget where in David Hasselhoff's name I was going with it. Sadly enough, a lot of works I was very excited about years ago have been thrown out because of this very thing happening. In the span of a couple of years I have, once again, overwhelmed myself in unfinished works and story ideas that I really would like to complete one day. So, in a sadly dysfunctional way, I have created this journal to house all those forgotten and abandoned works in an organized and pleasing fashion. Plus, when I decide to try my pen at and rehash one of these works, I won't have to grab the flashlight and bat to fight off the horrible demons and monsters under my bed. No, I swears it. They're under there. o.O

Now a little about moi- I'm a 20 year old, broke, college student up to my ears in school work (99.9% of which I procrastinate on)living in good ol' Texas. I'm majoring in psychology while attempting to get a teaching certificate (so I'll actually have a job when I graduate. Kinda need that). I've been writing creatively since about 12 years of age (believe me, the stuff I wrote then really sucked) and haven't given it up yet because of the encouragement I got from various english teachers throughout my educational career. Ever since I started writing, I've been very hesitant to let anyone know about it or much less, to even show my work. My parents don't even know I write! My 12th grade AP english teacher really gave me confidence when we had to write a satire and she said mine was so Emily Dickinson-esq that she had me read it in front of the whole class (would have preferred if that last part never happened, but oh well). The encouragement continued with my English and Writing 2 college professor who required us to write anything we wished concerning the short stories we read at least once a week. I chose to either rewrite the story or to continue it and solve any unresolved conflicts. An entire semester passed by without him really saying a word to me until the last assignment, on which I wrote "The Storm" by Kate Chopin from a different point of view. When he gave it back to me, he said in front of the class how much he enjoyed my assignments and that if he taught creative writing, he'd insist I be in it. Then he wanted me to read it to everyone, but that just wasn't going to happen. Those simple encouragements kept me going on with my little writing endeavors, so if ever I get something published (fat chance, right? XD) I'll be sure to thank them. And when my story is made into an Emmy winning featured film, I guess I'll thank them then too. Maybe. Oh my, I've gone on for awhile! NEXT!

So since I made the above section ridiculously long, I promise this one will be short and sweet. As short and sweet as I can possibly make it. Therefore, no guarantees this will actually be short and sweet. Now, ONWARD!

xLOVESx Harry Potter, cats, The Office, polka dots, books, office supplies, chocolate, pirate monkeys sipping tea, anything Jane Austen, old photographs, Neville Longbottom, astronomy, alliteration, classical music, etc

xHATESx Snooty people, broccoli, the movie Hostel, the scratching noise on a chalkboard, health psychology, research papers, etc

See?! Not that long!

Support? What the heck goes here? Well I’m financially supported by my parents. Emotional support is questionable. Hmm, I guess that’s it. Right?

As we continue through this journey we call life, I will update this section with any credits or links that I use throughout the life of this journal. I don’t really expect to have many links/credits, but layouts and other stuff I use will be mentioned here.
